There are many to choose from. I just recently installed a wordpress plug-in that creates one automatically for this blog. If you use wordpress you can get it at;

WordPress Google Sitemaps Tool

As for a windows downloadable app, CoffeeCup develops a good one.

Look for one that lets you automatically strip sessionids if you use PHP and cookies because you can not include them in your sitemap file. Most sitemap creation tools will not strip them, especially the free online ones.

I think you're right - but what if you a Windows developer? Any sitemap recommendations?

I was fortunate to meet Dave at ESWC2006 earlier this month, and sit on a couple of panels with him. He's forgotten more about how Google works than I ever want to know!

Thanks for the heads up re his monthly newsletter.

>error codes … should be converted into plane English

Is that the English spoken on airlines, or aviation technical jargon?

;-). Great article. I especially liked your other post on adding Features.

>Wouldn’t it be scary if you pressed the Delete button by accident and
>the confirmation message that appeared did not include a Cancel
>button?

I just bought a new mobile phone which has this exact dialog when you accidentally press a button while typing a text message. WTF? Who designs these things?

[...] In a post which made many excellent points about customer service in general, TryBeta.com said the following about offering apologies: 2) Take the blame for ALL mistakes Did a bug in your software crash your customers computer or was it an error on their part? Who cares! Apologize for anything that goes wrong and offer to fix it. Tell them how important this issue is and get it fixed ASAP. [...]
